  • Sara Lindsey’s parents, Stephen Lindsey (b.22 Mar 1759) the youngest son of Archibald Lindsey & Priscilla Stephenson of Stafford Tolland Co. Conn.   Archibald & brother John Lindsey removed from Bridgewater. Plymouth Co. Mass to Stafford in 1736-37. In 1784 Archibald sold his land holding in Staffordand took family to Ashfield/Buckland area of then Hampshire Co Mass.   Sara’s father Stephen met up with Sara/Sally McNitt  (dau of then widowed Martha McNight/Nitt) in Ashfield/Buckland Mass. area and were married ca 1785-86.  Sometime after 1800 in Colrain Census  Stephen Lindsey, wife Sara and their five children removed from Colrain to that part of Oneida County, New York which later became Oswego Co., NY.  Stephen Lindsey is listed as a Rev War Patriot of that county.
