Wells - Magdalene Martha Kalis, age 81, of Wells died on Monday, January 1, 2001, at Parkview Nursing Home in Wells. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2001, at Casimir Catholic Church in Wells with Father Eugene Stenzel officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday with the rosary service at 9:00 AM. Burial was at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells. Magdalene was born on April 3, 1919, in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, Minnesota to Nicholas and Agnes (Dulas) Kalis. Magdalene attended rural School District #23 in Faribault County and St. Casimir Catholic School in Wells. She worked most of her life on the family farm and moved to Wells in 1984. She enjoyed gardening and raising poultry. She is survived by three sisters: Marcella Radke of Ellendale, MN, Kathryn Kalis of Wells and Bernice DeWeber of Benicia, CA; three brothers: Louis (Ellen) Kalis of Wells, Edward Kalis of Wells and Aurelius "Ray" (Lois) Kalis of Wells along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters
