Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at St. Augustines Catholic Church for Sophie Woell, 84, of St. Cloud, who died Monday, April 2, at St. Benedicts Senior Community. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. The Reverend Meinrad Dindorf OSB, will officiate.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday (Today) at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and after 11:30 AM on Wednesday at the church. The Daughters of Isabella will pray at 5:30 PM and Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 PM at the Daniel Funeral home in St. Cloud.
Sophie was born on April 2, 1923, in Crivitz WI. to Andrew and Josephine (Larek) Koralewski. She married Marcus W. Woell on November 22, 1952 at Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. Sophie was a 1950 graduate of Mount Sinai School of Nursing in Milwaukee. She was employed as a Registered Nurse in polio nursing in Harlingen, TX. She treasured her family (especially her loving husband Marcus) and utilizing her nursing skills in various volunteer organizations including disaster nursing for the American Red Cross in St. Cloud. Sophie was a member of St. Augustines Parish, the Christian Women, and the Daughters of Isabella.
Sophie is survived by her husband Marcus of St. Cloud; children: JoAnn Ives, Jean (Gary) Kimmes, Mary (Tom Schultz) Woell, Nora (Tim) Morris, Jamie (Yvette), John; grandchildren: Jessica and Alyssa Ives; Jason, Derek, and Caleb Kimmes; Mickey, Tera, Shane, and Kelly Morris; Rachel Woell; brother Ted; sister Ceil Bonczkowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law John Ives, brother John, and sisters Marie Kerwin, Verne Gorsky, and Agnes Zimny.
Memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross Central Minnesota Chapter, in lieu of flowers.
