Notes
- Excerpt from p. 427 of "Who's Who Among Pastors in all the Norweigian
Synods of America 1843-1927", translated and revised by Rasmus
Malmin, O.M. Norlie and O.A. Tingelstad, 1928: "Ordained, 1924. Norwegian
Lutheran Church in America(N.L.C.). Born March 19, 1897 at Moorhead,
Minnesota, of Rev. A. Ofstedal and Mathilde Elizabeth Markuson. Attended
high school, Chicago, 1912-16(gard.); Luther College 1916-17,
1918-21(A.B); Luther Theological Seminary, 1921-24(C.T.), U.S. Navy,
1917-18. Pastor, Edmore, North Dakota, 1924- . Married Edith Estrem,
1924.
Mom(Dorothy Laird) told me about a time shortly after Grandpa and
Grandma Ofstedahl moved to California, when Rudolph showed up in
Cotati or Santa Rosa to visit them. They hardly had anything unpacked.
The above book shows a notation about Rudolph's death in 1958. Albert
Markuson has his death occuring in June 1959, but I have taken the book
notation above as the correct date. The Markuson genealogy indicates
that his widow Edith was living in Seattle in 1964.
